Cross-talking was the name of the game at the African Union Committee Session.
The Co-Chair’s method of punishing those cross-talking by shooting them with the water gun, proved effective for a while until his methods almost destroyed a delegate’s computer. It was a very noisy atmosphere at the Committee with delegates getting extremely distracted whilst giving out their speeches and people constantly getting shot at with a water gun. The delegate of “ETHOPIA”, as said by the delegate of Mali, was the main culprit behind the interruption. The delegates of Mali, Kenya, Ethiopia, and Ghana were the most distracted throughout the entire session, with the delegate of Ghana inappropriately touching the delegate of Mali when making his way through the aisle… There was absolutely ZERO progress by the delegates in the session. The measures taken by the Chairs (such as making them stand on opposite ends of the class looking at the window, kicking them out of the committee room, shooting them with the water gun, etc.) proved to be ineffectual.
To conclude, it could be said that the incompetence of some of the committee members was on display and the debate highly lacked a professional sense. Let us hope the members of the African Union propose a solution to safeguard the Somali refugees.
