The Disarmament and International Security Committee is meant to be a committee where multiple nations work together with factually correct information and statements in order to achieve a solution. It acts as a beacon of hope for those who strive towards international security.
However, the utterly incompetent and ignorant delegate of the UK did not understand the objective. The delegate of the UK raised a rather absurd point of factual inaccuracy and commented on a fellow delegate’s GSL stating “Palestine is not going through a mass genocide.” This makes everyone wonder where he gets his sources from considering that a myriad of press agencies, nay almost all of them regularly report the deaths in Palestine. The lack of knowledge on the agenda and the utmost negligence justifies DISEC’s classification as a beginner committee. Moreover, upon checking the delegate’s very reliable source, the source explicitly stated that there is a mass genocide happening in Palestine currently. The severe amateurishness displayed in making a mistake while researching one of the world’s most prevalent issues really displays the severe intelligence that the delegate of the UK, a supposed major stakeholder, possesses. If the major stakeholder of the committee acts in such a foolish, ignorant manner, one can only imagine the deplorable plight of the committee as a whole, making one contemplate the inevitable failure of this committee. When the delegate was further questioned on this he replied with a series of boorish screams (more like cries for mercy) and a blunt, vague statement “ check your sources.” The utter incompetence of this delegate and absolute ignorance make one wonder whether he is from another planet! The five minutes of chaos that ensued would make anyone regret viewing the proceedings of the committee, especially the chairs.
To make things worse, the delegate of Japan said “let him cook” showing their seriousness in such a tense situation. Great work! Even fellow delegates drool at the prospect of someone slipping up in the committee, showing their absolute commitment to working as a group and finding solutions for the matter at hand. Moreover, they were enjoying the foolishness of the delegate of the UK showing their devotion to finding unique ways to evade their work.
Overall, saying the entire committee is a farce or a joke is a severe understatement and this is majorly justified by the lack of knowledge of the agenda of the committee(especially by a major stakeholder).
