HPBE where the B stands for boring

Despite repeated reminders from the chairs, it seems that delegates believe their sole purpose is to impress them, neglecting the fact that they should be addressing the entire committee. It's almost laughable to see them so fixated on winning over the chairs that they forget the very essence of diplomacy and collaboration.

Don't forget the talk on boosting job numbers—a big goal, but things are moving at a snail's pace. The delegates seem trapped in a loop, unable to make headway as they keep saying "we need to build infrastructure" over and over, like, okay, and…

Delegates like Samuel Hoare seems to focus on pleasing the chairs, not caring about anyone else in the room. We also see the strange situation with Rap Butler, Leslie Burgin, Aneurin Bevan and RT Hon. J.R Clynes. They haven't said anything since they there opening speech. You have to wonder if they have anything useful to add. This place is like a circus. They talk about sending soldiers but don't have enough people or cash to back it up.

To make things even crazier, some people think building a fertiliser plant will solve everything. And what about those supposed job improvements they talked about during the moderated talk? All he delegates know how to do is go up there and propose unpractical ideas! it's hard to believe they'll get anything done before time runs out. You can tell no one's into it. They're just reading straight from their screens looking unsure and not engaged at all.

While the other committee were bustling with enthusiasm of their delegate that could be heard through the walls. HPBE remained hushed and soundless. Let's see what the other two days hold for them… Niyanta Chauhan, South China Morning Post
