The first committee session that took place in NAIRA focused more on targeting others than reaching actual solutions. In the words of the Ministry of Defence, “The delegates haven’t mentioned anything ‘substantial’ in their speeches.” and “Rather than whining like a kid, I would like to focus on ‘substantial’ information.” Surely, the repetition of the word ‘substantial’ here means something. Moreover, things got HEATED when the Ministry of Defence nearly screamed at the delegate of Saudi Arabia when he proposed to amend the Sharia Law, thereby making it more lenient and subdued. “Are you trying to go against Muhammad’s word?” were his exact words.
Things got even MORE heated when the delegate of Pakistan and EVERYONE ELSE got into an argument regarding the Sharia law and its proposed amendments. From discussions about drugs to women not having rights, the committee might just have covered all global controversial topics.
Will the committee’s delegates finally start proposing solutions and rather than problems? Stay tuned to find out.
