The SPECPOL committee has devolved into one of the most informal and chaotic sessions possible. The delegate of Taiwan was quick to shamelessly turn away from the ongoing formal debate session and cross talk to the press delegate that just entered the comm room, lying about his delegation and begging to not be written about. As if that isn't bad enough, all the delegates were quick to vote against a moderated caucus that their own Chairs set for them not once but twice all while giggling in plain sight. Is this how serious discussions are to be conducted? The lack of professionalism and respect for the committee's processes is glaringly apparent, leaving many to question whether this session is a mockery rather than a meaningful dialogue.
